If you want to become a CNA, you first need to make sure that you are physically and emotionally prepared for the role. This means being able to handle the demands of the job, both mentally and physically. You also need to be comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds, as CNAs often work closely with patients and their families.
Make your decision
Once you’ve decided that you’re ready to become a CNA, the next step is to sign up for a CNA training program. Gabriel Health Institute offers both calssroom and online CNA training programs that can be completed in as little as two to four weeks. The program is designed to give you the skills and knowledge you need to succeed as a CNA, and includes both classroom and clinical instruction.
Upon completing your CNA training, you’ll then need to take the state-mandated certification exam. Once you’ve passed the exam, you’ll be officially certified as a nurse assistant and will be able to start working in a healthcare facility.
Passing the FL CNA State Exam
Passing the FL CNA State Exam is not difficult if you have taken a good training program like the one offered at Gabriel Health Institute. The exam is comprised of two parts, a written knowledge test and a skills demonstration. The knowledge test covers basic information about nursing care, while the skills demonstration requires you to perform certain tasks that CNAs are expected to be able to do, such as taking vital signs and moving patients.
You can prepare for both parts of the exam by studying for and taking practice tests online. There are also many study guides and practice exams available for purchase. Once you feel confident that you’re prepared, go into the exam with the attitude that you’re going to pass it – because with hard work and dedication, you will!
Best of luck to you as you begin your journey to becoming a certified nurse assistant!
